(08/27/10) THE BRONX - Hundreds of Muslim Bronx residents attended a town hall meeting today to discuss fears of anger and religious intolerance.

The meeting was held as the controversy continues over the construction of an Islamic community center near Ground Zero and this week's alleged attack of a Muslim cab driver.

The event was hosted by the United African Congress. Members of the group say they want to initiate dialogue about the proposed center and about intolerance many Muslims have felt after the Sept. 11 attacks.

Margo Schlanger, of the Department of Homeland Security's Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, spoke at the meeting. She said it was very important to the DHS that racial profiling does not happen.
