THE BRONX - During the summer, tanning beds are typically filled with those who want sun-kissed skin. However, some lawmakers plan to announce legislation targeting would-be tanners about the dangers of skin cancer.

Anti-tanning activists, council member James Vacca and other groups say the legislation will discourage people from using indoor tanning beds.

The legislation would require salons to post warning signs about the dangers of skin cancer. It would also forbid salons from giving students discounts or other cost reductions that target youth.
