THE BRONX - A community is in mourning after a young man was killed in a double shooting on Tinton Avenue Friday.

Police say Tyrek Singleton, 28, was shot at around 6 p.m. Friday night and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Friends say he had come to the John Adams Houses to visit his mother for his birthday.

The other victim was shot in the leg and remains hospitalized in stable condition. Police say no arrests have been made yet.
