THE BRONX - Commuters in Concourse Village are complaining that a public stairwell is being treated as a public restroom.

The stairwell is located at the 161st Street and Walton Avenue subway stop.

People in the area say that they're hit with a urine stench while walking down to catch the train.

An MTA spokesperson said that while the stairwell is city property, it will investigate, and have the space sanitized and disinfected.
