THE BRONX - Bronx residents are standing in piles of snow waiting for local buses to get back on track.

City bus service was suspended most of the day yesterday due to unsafe conditions. While all service has been restored, many bus routes are taking detours to avoid slushy streets. Several express buses are also making local stops.

Commuters say they are frustrated they have to climb over more than a foot of snow to get onto the bus. Many say none of the bus shelters they have been to have been cleared of snow and plows keep piling snow onto the sidewalk.

The city is advising residents to allow for extra travel time.
