Con Ed: About 50 homes remain without power in The Bronx

THE BRONX - Con Edison crews say that as of 10 p.m., only about 50 residents in The Bronx remain without power after Hurricane Irene.

Statewide, nearly 300,000 homes and businesses remain without power and 2 million are without power along the entire East Coast.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo says that the damages across the state will exceed $1 billion.

The governor said that while New York City was spared the worst of the damage, upstate New York paid a terrible price for the storm.
