THE BRONX - A Con Ed worker rescued a baby who was dangling from an apartment window Friday.

Officials say Essa Waggeh heard a woman screaming near 1555 Grand Concourse and then saw the baby crawling out of a window near an air conditioner.

Waggeh reportedly grabbed his work ladder and hurried up toward the baby, who he successfully and safely carried down.

Waggeh has worked at Con Ed for just two weeks.

Child services officials are investigating the incident.
