THE BRONX - ? A worker was safely removed after being injured in a manhole in Mott Haven, according to fire officials.

The worker was from Consolidated Edison Inc. Fire officials say the accident occurred at the intersection of Bruckner Boulevard and Willis Avenue.

The 300-pound worker was unable to climb out of the manhole himself. Authorities say cables snapped and fell on the worker.
