Concerned residents request stop sign on Layton Avenue to quell speeding

Residents say the DOT got back to Community Board 10 last month about their request . (3/3/14)

THE BRONX - Some residents in Country Club are asking for at least one more stop sign on their street.

They say Layton Avenue has been like a racetrack for years, and remains dangerous even with construction in the area. Resident Patrick O'Rourke says there have been multiple requests for a stop sign sent to the Department of Transportation, but their wish hasn't been granted yet.

There are five intersections between the two stop signs on Layton Avenue, and residents say they are sometimes ignored by speeders.
