THE BRONX - The installation of a 3,000-foot concrete barrier along the Bronx River Parkway near the Bronx Zoo is complete.

It was almost one year ago that a tragic accident took the lives of seven family members after their SUV went over a guardrail near the zoo.

While the project was completed on Saturday, the Department of Transportation says workers will continue to block lanes for another couple of weeks to remove temporary fences and add signs to the roadway.
