CO-OP CITY - A Connecticut man was arrested yesterday for allegedly selling makeshift pipe bombs from his car in a Bronx parking lot.

Police say 37-year-old Nicholas Lahines was arrested after selling undercover officers eight pipe bombs from his white Subaru, parked at a Co-op City shopping center Thursday afternoon.

FBI officials say authorities searched his Bridgeport, Conn. apartment overnight.  They say a state trooper was injured when a bomb in the apartment flashed over during the search.

The makeshift bombs were reportedly made of aluminum and apparently filled with potassium perchlorate, with fuses attached.

The FBI says it does not believe this was any sort of terrorist act and are now focusing on finding out who he sold the bombs to.
