THE BRONX - The summer heat is here, but the Bronx can find some relief at city cooling centers.

The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and the Department of Health (DOH) opened up 400 centers citywide for a second straight day as temperatures soared into the 90s.

Everyone is being urged to take precautions in the hot weather. Officials advise the use of air conditioners, staying hydrated and limiting strenuous activity.

Hot weather can cause serious illness among vulnerable people, including young children, seniors and those with chronic health problems.
