THE BRONX - A police officer in the Bronx has come up with a knock-out way for gang members to settle the score in the boxing ring.

Officer Chris Traumer, of the 49th Precinct, says he got an idea after two rival gangs kept getting into fights.

There are kids that do have a lot of aggression in them and this gives them a way of releasing it on something that's positive, says Traumer.

The owner of the Morris Park Boxing Club, which is hosting the fights, says the teens are learning discipline and hard work while building their bodies and minds.

Traumer says the results can be even better for gang members. If they have a friendly environment to come to instead of the hostile environment outside, then it might make a change in their lives.

A nearby restaurant is providing food to replenish the kids after a long workout.
