Cops: 2 arrested in illegal dog breeding ring

THE BRONX - Two men have been arrested in connection with what police say is an illegal dog breeding ring out of Mount Eden.

According to police and the ASPCA, about 50 pit bulls were found inside an apartment at 1254 Sherman Ave. They say the suspects were raising and selling the canines, which included puppies, for fighting.

The dogs are being removed from the home and will be transported to an undisclosed location outside of the city for exams and treatment.
