Cops: 2 women assaulted minutes apart in The Bronx

THE BRONX - Police are asking for the public's help catching the person responsible for two sexual attacks, which they say occurred just 45 minutes apart in the Bronx area.

Authorities say the incidents happened between 8 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. Sunday. They say the first attack happened on Tinton Avenue and East 163rd Street, and the second happened at the nearby intersection of Boston Road and East 165th Street.

During the first attack, police say the man grabbed a 42-year-old woman off an elevator and dragged her into the stairwell of the building, where he sexually assaulted her. Just 45 minutes later, cops say they believe the same man attacked a 17-year-old from behind. Police say both victims were also robbed.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 20 and 25 years old. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-8477.
