Cops: Bronx grandfather beaten to death

THE BRONX - Police are searching for the men responsible for beating a Bronx grandfather to death last weekend.

According to officials, Juan Lopez was beaten by a group of men on Southern Boulevard and later died from his injuries at Lincoln Hospital. Family members say they believe the fight was over Lopez's cell phone, which was the only possession missing when police found him.

Police say they haven't made any arrests and the case is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
