THE BRONX - Police have confirmed that a Bronx woman was shot and killed by a stray bullet near Hoe Avenue early Sunday morning. Police say Yaritza Pacheco, 24, was struck in the neck as she walked to a fried chicken restaurant shortly before 4 a.m. They say she was caught in the crossfire of an argument between two men. Neighbors created a memorial near the victim's home, and by the spot on Hoe Avenue where she collapsed. "It's a sad thing what's happening in our neighborhood," one resident said. "A sad thing." Pacheco leaves behind a 4-year-old daughter. Police say the man believed to have been the intended target was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the leg.
