Cops: Driver in fatal livery cab accident likely won't be charged

THE BRONX - Investigators say the driver responsible for a fatal livery cab accident yesterday more than likely will not have charges filed against him, as they do not believe there was any criminality involved. An elderly woman was killed on the sidewalk and several others were injured when the driver smashed his cab into Cee and Cee Department Store. Witnesses say the driver was turning from Fordham Road and swerved away to avoid a pedestrian. They say he veered off Bainbridge Avenue, fatally striking 61-year-old Carmen Ahmed. Two passengers inside the taxi were also hurt, as were three others inside the store.
