THE BRONX - An apparent lover's quarrel this morning has left two people hospitalized and police searching for the alleged perpetrator.

Officials say a man was traveling at 70 mph down 169th Street when he hit his girlfriend's car on Merriam Avenue at around 11:30 a.m. They say the man then proceeded to hit the woman's car four more times. In all, nine cars were damaged.

Police say the girlfriend and another passenger were taken to the hospital. Their conditions are not yet known.

Investigators say the perpetrator was an older man who fled the scene immediately after the crash.
