Cops: Man tries to kidnap child outside P.S. 160

THE BRONX - Parents in Co-op City are on edge after learning that a man allegedly attempted to kidnap a 6-year-old boy right in front of P.S. 160.Police say a man approached a child on Hutchinson River Parkway Friday morning at around 7 a.m., grabbed the boy and told him to go with him to his house. A passerby intervened and the man ran off.Investigators say the suspect is about 6 feet 2 inches tall and in his 50s with a dark complexion and thick, gray and white facial hair.

Some parents in the area say they'll be talking to their own children about the right thing to do in case they're approached by a stranger.
