Police are searching for a man who allegedly attempted to rape a 48-year-old woman in Tremont.

THE BRONX - Police are searching for a man who allegedly attempted to rape a 48-year-old woman in Tremont.

Police say the man followed the victim to the second floor of her apartment building early Friday morning. They say he then grabbed her and tried to sexually assault her.

The woman screamed and he ran away. She was taken to a local hospital and is expected to be OK.

Police say the suspect is described as a Hispanic male between the ages of 30 and 35. He stands at approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall.
