Councilman Andrew Cohen and Sen. Jeff Klein announce Van Cortlandt Park upgrade


The project is in the beginning stages, and will not break ground for another two years.

Van Cortlandt Park, the third largest park in New York City, will be getting an upgrade.

In a news conference Wednesday, Councilman Andrew Cohen and Sen. Jeff Klein announced $1.2 million in state and city grants to turn a barren field into a playground with running trails.
