Councilman fights for BX utility pole repairs

RIVERDALE - A local councilman is finally getting downed utility poles in Riverdale repaired after a tornado tore through the area more than two months ago.

Councilman Oliver Koppell says Con Edison and Verizon will be fixing the poles that have become a safety concern throughout the neighborhood. Residents say the utility poles lean into the street with power lines hanging down.

News 12 The Bronx reached out to Con Edison and Verizon to see how long it will take to complete the repairs, but have not yet heard back.
