THE BRONX - Bronx political leaders are calling on Mayor Michael Bloomberg to reverse a decision to exclude prayer from the upcoming Ground Zero ceremony.

"I was utterly disappointed when I heard that the mayor had made the decision to exclude prayer from the Sept. 11 10-year anniversary," says City Councilman Fernando Cabrera. "Sept. 11 was a time when all Americans, New Yorkers, came together. It galvanized us together and here we are being divided."

In a statement, Bloomberg's office says that prayer hasn't been part of the ceremony for years. They say the ceremony was designed in coordination with Sept. 11 families and includes a mixture of readings that are spiritual, historical and personal in nature.
