THE BRONX - Community members gathered at the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Crotona Park East Monday to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Elected officials in attendance included state Assembly members Michael Blake and Vanessa Gibson, along with Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark and others.

Speakers reminded those in attendance that King had a profound impact on history without ever holding political office. 

A point that they said shows how anyone can make a difference.
