CT teen shot while visiting Williamsbridge

WILLIAMSBRIDGE - Another weekend of violence in the Bronx has left 16-year-old Tashawn Bromfield dead.

Police say Bromfield, a resident of Meridian, Connecticut, was waiting outside for his father to pick him up on Fenton Avenue after meeting up with a friend, when he was shot once in the chest.

His father?s girlfriend says she believes he was shot as part of a gang initiation ritual. His family says he wasn?t involved in any criminal activity.

A memorial has been set up where he died as friends and family mourn his loss.
