Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) has launched a new program to help protect MTA workers. "Transit Watch" offers cash rewards to help prosecute suspects who assault

THE BRONX - Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) has launched a new program to help protect MTA workers.

"Transit Watch" offers cash rewards to help prosecute suspects who assault transportation workers while on the job. Witnesses could receive $2,000 if they're able to help police.

Safety has been a growing concern for city bus drivers, train operators and other personnel, who came together earlier this month for a first-ever Transit Workers Safety Conference.
