The 11-year veteran says she’s honored to represent her department and borough.

THE BRONX - A female firefighter is being featured for the first time ever in the new FDNY calendar, and she hails from the Bronx!

Danae Mines represents the month of March for the 2015 Calendar of Heroes. She says she represents that month because March is Women's History Month.

The 11-year veteran says representing the borough and the fire department is a great honor.

This year marks the FDNY'S 150th anniversary. The calendar costs $15, and all proceeds go to the FDNY Foundation for Fire Safety and Prevention.
