THE BRONX - Bronx residents are trying to get used to the bitter cold weather, which doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon. With the cold weather comes dry, chapped lips and that burning sensation on your cheeks in the cold wind.

The key to protecting your face from the elements is through moisturizing. Professionals at Tones Spa in Westchester Square say that while hats can protect your forehead, residents must protect their cheeks and face to avoid dry skin and wrinkles.

The low temperatures and negative wind chills this week have come close to breaking records citywide, making it difficult and dangerous to be outside for too long.

Commuters should watch for slick roads and sidewalks, and wear plenty of extra layers, including hats and gloves. All exposed skin should be covered, but it's best to just stay indoors if possible.

The temperature will warm up slightly on Saturday, but may come at a price. The borough is also expected to see 1-2 inches of more snow.
