DEA: Marijuana grow house busted in Hunts Point

HUNTS POINT - The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) says it made a major drug bust in Hunts Point this afternoon.

Agents say they uncovered a marijuana grow house operated out of a 24-hour truck washing center.

The scheme was so elaborate that DEA agents say it took almost two cargo trucks worth of evidence from the location.  Agents removed buckets of illuminating light bulbs and stacks of power supplies that were allegedly used to grow pounds of marijuana, as well as more than a dozen bags of marijuana.

Neighboring businesses say the truck wash was closed several months ago, but that people were still seen constantly entering and exiting the large facility.

DEA officials say they are still determining exactly how much marijuana was recovered.
