THE BRONX - Dozens of people gathered Tuesday to remember a car wash employee who died last week and to rally for workplace safety.

William Gomez collapsed at work at C&P Car Wash on Jan. 31, according to co-worker Armando Gonzalez, who was there at the time.

A manager gave Gomez juice and cookies and let him rest, but never called 911, Gonzalez says.

Gomez returned home at the end of his shift, but went to Lincoln Hospital the next day. After his release, he was found dead in his home on Feb. 2.

The city's medical examiner ruled the death natural and found that Gomez had heart disease.
