Deliveryman beaten, robbed in Mott Haven

Police are looking for two men who they say beat and robbed a deliveryman while he attempted to drop off Chinese food at an apartment

THE BRONX - Police are looking for two men who they say beat and robbed a deliveryman while he attempted to drop off Chinese food at an apartment in Mott Haven last night.

According to police, the 31-year-old was confronted on East 147th Street just before 8 p.m. and only a block away from where he works at the New Wok restaurant. They say he was repeatedly hit in the face with a baseball bat, robbed and left bleeding in the street.

The attack isn't the first time the restaurant has been affected by violence. Last year, two employees were rushed to the hospital after an armed robbery and a man was shot six times the next day.

The victim, who says he would have handed over money or food willingly, was treated at the scene for his injuries and has returned to work. The restaurant says it will no longer be making deliveries to the apartment where the assault took place.
