THE BRONX - Bronx residents are voicing frustration about garbage piling up in their neighborhoods.

With all the recent snow, the Department of Sanitation is getting backlogged trying to pick up trash across the borough. They are urging New York residents to clear snow from their bags and cans in an effort to speed up the collections.

News 12 reached out to the Department of Sanitation regarding its cleanup efforts. The Department of Sanitation sent the following statement back: "Crews are working to pick up trash and recycling, including backlogged material, and they will continue to do so until we get back to our regular schedules... Weather permitting."
