Department of Transportation plans traffic safety measures at Hugh Grant Circle in Parkchester

A crosswalk and traffic light will be installed

A crosswalk and traffic light will be installed where Hugh Grant Circle meets Westchester Avenue.

THE BRONX - The city is taking action in response to number of traffic safety complaints at a troublesome intersection in Parkchester.

The Department of Transportation conducted a traffic study of the Hugh Grant Circle last month, and found that the crossing did need more regulation. It now plans to install a crosswalk and traffic light where the circle meets Westchester Avenue.

Mili Bonilla led the charge to keep commuters safe after a new entrance to the No. 6 train was installed. She contacted Councilwoman Annabel Palma, who then alerted the DOT, which agreed to investigate.

Officials say they'll be moving quickly to get the changes made by the end of June.
