THE BRONX - Residents of buildings on Kelly Street are calling out for help, hoping their complaints will improve their living conditions.

Holes in the ceiling, water that won't turn off and cracked floors are just some of the terrible living conditions tenants say they have to deal with.

"Everything is falling out of this place. It's ridiculous," said Miriam Rivera, a tenant who says that residents take it upon themselves to fix the damages.

According to a city Department of Housing Preservation and Development spokesman, five buildings are currently in foreclosure. Although the bank did not lead the buildings into their current states, the spokesman says that it is now responsible for the maintenance needed.

Four of the buildings are in the city's Alternative Enforcement Program. The spokesman says that if repairs aren't made right away, the city will step in and bill the landlord.

Ridgewood Savings Bank is currently trying to sell the buildings.
