MORRIS PARK - The city's Department of Health recently launched its new "Pouring on the Pounds" ad campaign, which targets sweet, fizzy beverages.

New television commercials and posters that will be placed on city buses and subways depict fat pouring out of sugary drinks. The ads are designed to send a clear message to city residents: cut back on the sweet stuff and instead switch to water.

Health officials say roughly three out of five New Yorkers are overweight or obese, and that drinking one can of soda per day can lead to a weight gain of 10 pounds each year.
