MOUNT EDEN - Community members say progress is being made on a deteriorating underpass tunnel in Mount Eden.

The Department of Transportation installed LED lights yesterday in the underpass on East 174th Street and Selwyn Avenue.

Community activist Sydney Flores says he's been fighting to get the tunnel repaired for years and appreciates that some progress is being made.

Flores and other nearby residents says more needs to be done to fix the rusty beams and crumbling walls. Flores says the tunnel also has leaks that need to be repaired.
