THE BRONX - While Fashion Week is in full swing in Manhattan, the Bronx is having shows of its own.

On Thursday, 17 designers brought their collections to the runway of Bronx Fashion Week at The Mall at Bay Plaza.

"We have all these people anxious because they don't have to go to Manhattan anymore to see the fashion show, they can see it in the Bronx," said Bronx Fashion Week CEO Flora Montes.

"People need to see that people from the Bronx have talent," said Anita Rivers, one of the designers featured in Bronx Fashion Week.

Most of the models and designers are Bronx natives and say that this show is a chance to display their talents in the borough they call home.
