THROGS NECK - Detectives that worked tirelessly for 22 years on a case known as ‘Baby Hope’ say they finally have some closure.
After more than two decades, an arrest was made in the murder of ‘Baby Hope,’ whose real name is Anjelica Castillo. The 4-year-old’s battered body was found in a cooler along the Henry Hudson Parkway in 1991.
Conrado Juarez, of the Bronx, is charged in the child's killing. Prosecutors say the 52-year-old man was a relative of the little girl.
Detective Jerry Giorgio, who worked on the case since day one, retired a few months ago before the new developments in the case. He says this closure is the best retirement present he could ever have asked for.
