Diaz calls on Bronx residents to fill census

SOUNDVIEW - Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz is calling on residents of the borough to step up and be counted in the census.

According to Mayor Michael Bloomberg, only two percent of people living in the Bronx have returned their census forms. Diaz says the forms are too important - impacting everything from federal and state representation to funding for housing and schools - to be dismissed.

The U.S. Census Bureau says it will be accepting census forms by mail until April 22.
