Diaz Jr. has ceremonial swearing in

THE BRONX - Ruben Diaz Jr., the newly elected Bronx borough president, had his ceremonial swearing in Thursday at Lehman College.

Many elected officials, including Mayor Michael Bloomberg and City Comptroller Bill Thompson, showed up to support Diaz, a former state assemblyman.

Former Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion Jr. left the post a few months ago to work in the Obama administration, opening up the position for Diaz through a special election.
