Diaz Sr. and Jr. differ on 33rd District race

THE BRONX - State Sen. Ruben Diaz Sr. and his son Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. have endorsed opposing candidates in the 33rd Senate District race.

The elder Diaz threw his support behind Senate Majority Leader Pedro Espada Jr. last week. The Bronx borough president announced yesterday he is endorsing Espada's opponent, Gustavo Rivera, in the race.

The politicians both say the other has chosen the wrong candidate, despite their love for each other.
