THE BRONX - A disabled 9-year-old girl from The Bronx has been stuck at home this week, unable to get to school during the bus drivers strike.

According to Joy Williams, her daughter Verona is a quadriplegic and blind, and cannot travel without a wheelchair-accessible bus. Williams says she doesn't have her own car and has been forced to keep Verona home since the strike began.

Verona attends Lavelle School of the Blind where Principal Judy Coan says attendance has been very low.
