THE BRONX - A disabled woman from The Bronx called on News 12 for help with a broken elevator in her building that has been out of service for more than a week.

Donna Watson, who broke her neck in a car accident a month ago, says that she and other disabled tenants in the building have been forced to use an alternate elevator, walk up flights of stairs and cross the building's roof to get to their apartments at 1551 Williamsbridge Road.

Watson says that she and other tenants have called Beach Lane Management asking for answers, but they have not gotten any help. Tenants in the building say it wasn't until News 12 cameras showed up that someone came to fix the elevator.

When News 12 spoke to the repairman off-camera today, he said he is working to fix the problem, but would not give an exact time frame when the repairs would be made.
