THE BRONX - The new City Council member for District 15 in the Bronx, Ritchie Torres, spoke to News 12 the Bronx about his plans for the next four years.

Torres says the first issue on his agenda is to continue the fight for building improvements across the district.

Torres, 25, is the youngest council member in the city. He represents about 160,000 residents in Belmont, Fordham, Tremont and East Tremont.

His passion for the political world started at the age of 15 when he started an internship at the Mayor's Office for Economic Development and Rebuilding. He was also a staff member of Councilman Jimmy Vacca.
