MORRISANIA - Lincoln Hospital doctors say the cab driver who was shot in Longwood yesterday will never be able to walk again.

Police say Julio Lora, 64, was shot in the neck inside his livery cab late yesterday afternoon after a passenger tried to rob him.

Doctors say the bullet caused Lora to be paralyzed from the neck down.

The suspected gunman, 29-year-old Devon Taylor, ran out of the cab and allegedly tried to rob another person but was stopped by a group of Good Samaritans, who held him on the ground until police arrived.

The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers say it is offering $500 rewards to the Good Samaritans.

Police say Taylor has been charged with attempted murder, robbery, criminal possession of a firearm and assault.
