DOE: 4 struggling Bronx schools to be phased out

THE BRONX - Four schools in the Bronx could soon be on the chopping block. The Department of Education released a list of 11 struggling schools that it wants to see phased out.

The schools are the School for Community Research and Learning, New Day Academy, Urban Assembly Academy for History and Citizenship for Young Men and John F. Kennedy High School.

Officials say the schools have consistently struggled with poor test scores, declining graduation rates and low enrollment.
