DOE announces new names for city 'turnaround' schools

THE BRONX - Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott has announced new names for 24 "turnaround" schools.

The struggling schools, including 10 in The Bronx, will reopen this fall with new names, teachers and improved programs. The changes have sparked months of protests from parents, students and educators.
