THE BRONX - A livery driver is dead after jumping a curb, hitting a baby’s stroller and slamming into a Dunkin' Donuts.

Police say the driver lost control of his vehicle after suffering a medical condition at Westchester and Prospect avenues.

Witnesses say a mother and her 8-month-old baby were exiting the Bx17 bus on Prospect Avenue when the driver jumped the curb and hit the child’s stroller. They also say the baby ended up beneath the cab, prompting Good Samaritans to aid in the rescue.

Authorities say the mother was not physically injured but may be in shock. The baby girl is expected to recover from her injuries. They are both being treated at Lincoln Hospital.

The Department of Buildings is surveying the damage at the Dunkin’ Donuts.

The identity of the driver has not yet been released.
