THE BRONX - The owner of a Bronx tax preparation business appeared in court today, a day after police and state investigators raided his offices over alleged false returns.

Officials have charged Mark Goldberg, of E&M Multi Services, with filing false personal tax returns over the past three years. On Wednesday, investigators left the office with multiple boxes filled with papers.

The charges are not related to returns filed by E&M Multi Services.

The district attorney has confirmed that Goldberg is the target of a multimillion-dollar false filing scam that was investigated by the IRS and the state Department of Taxation and Finance.

Goldberg is expected to be back in court on May 16.
